Michael HansenFounder, Chief Executive Officer and Director
Michael Hansen is the Founder of the Company, Chief Executive Officer and a Director. Since inception, Mr. Hansen has continued as the company’s chief strategist and conceptual developer, areas in which he has been recognized globally for his unusually innovative style. Mr. Hansen earned his reputation for creativity and strategic conceptualization early in his career. His early professional experience included a variety of internationally recognized creative environments. Mr. Hansen holds a degree in mechanical engineering and in the late eighties and early nineties worked as a developer for the Danfoss Group. Later, he was recruited by LEGO and was responsible for theme world development spending much of his time designing and creating the highly successful Space LEGO product line. Space LEGO later evolved into the popular Star Wars product line which remains a best seller still today. In 1996, he commenced his entrepreneurial career by developing a successful chain of Mexican-themed franchise restaurants which he sold in 1999 to pursue a career in the Network Marketing industry. His initial experience in Network Marketing included achieving the highest position at two US-based Network Marketing companies, in both telecommunications and financial services. Mr. Hansen founded the company in 2003 to take advantage of the early stages of online trading and combined it with the benefits of the Network Marketing distribution model.
Betina DupontChief Operating Officer
As Chief Operating Officer of Ominto, Betina is responsible for operations and all marketing functions worldwide including DubLi.com, DubLi Network and BSP Rewards. Previous to her position as Chief Operating Officer she was Chief Marketing Officer of DubLi Network, a position she held since 2005. She is also the manager of the company’s office in Dubai, UAE. Early in her career, Betina was employed in a Danish marketing firm and spent two years with Modulex, a division of LEGO where she worked in the accounting and logistics department. As a seasoned business executive, she has owned her own restaurant and has also managed accounting and HR for several nightclubs in Denmark..
Betina began her career in Network Marketing in the late 1990s, and spent three years building large organizations and customer bases for two US multi-level marketing companies. She has Degree in Business Administration from Vejle Business College. She is fluent in Danish, English and German and is conversational in Spanish.
Mitch HillExecutive Chairman
Mitch Hill is Co-Founder and Chief Financial Officer of Fortunato Capital Management, Inc., a real estate private equity firm. Prior to Fortunato, Mr. Hill was Executive Vice President and CFO of Alphaeon, Inc., a subsidiary of Strathspey Crown, LLC. Mr. Hill has an extensive and successful track record with private equity and venture capital-backed firms including his service as CFO of Cameron Health, Inc. (sold to Boston Scientific) and Visiogen Inc. (sold to Abbott Medical Optics). Earlier in his career, he was President and CFO of Buy.com Inc., a high-profile pioneer in early ecommerce solutions with annual sales of approximately $800 million, and Senior Vice President and CFO of Walt Disney Imagineering, a 3,000 person creative, technical and real estate / theme park development company. Mr. Hill also worked in the investment banking division of Goldman Sachs. Throughout his career he has supported startup launches, and has transformed companies from R&D phases and private capitalization to commercialization with manufacturing, marketing and sales, including preparation for IPO. Mr. Hill received his MBA from Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration, with a focus in Finance, and his BS from Brigham Young University, Business Accounting, summa cum laude.
Jim SpielmanChief Financial Officer
Mr. Spielman joined Ominto following a long career in investment banking, corporate finance and public accounting. Prior to joining Ominto, Mr. Spielman was the Managing Partner of Sympheron Capital LLC, a boutique M&A advisory and private capital raising service firm he started 10 years ago to advise publicly traded and private corporate clients on mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, leveraged buyouts, restructurings, recapitalizations, and corporate finance transactions. Prior to Sympheron, Mr. Spielman served as the CFO of Intelligent InSites, a VC-backed healthcare SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) where he raised several million in new capital from private and institutional investors while leading the company’s accounting, finance, and IT departments and co-leading HR. Prior to InSites, Mr. Spielman was an M&A and corporate finance investment banker with Houlihan Lokey’s Global Energy Investment Banking Group and Bank of America Securities’ Global Healthcare Investment Banking Group in New York. Earlier in his career, Mr. Spielman spent 10 years in senior corporate financial reporting, planning & analysis roles with Western Digital (Nasdaq: WDC), Buy.com which was later acquired by Rakuten, Inc., and Health Care Property Investors (NYSE: HCP). Mr. Spielman started his career as an audit CPA with Arthur Andersen in California specializing in software, e-commerce, digital media, and internet services. He earned his BS in Accounting (Cum Laude) from Minnesota State University and an MBA in Finance from UCLA’s Anderson School of Management.
Bicky CarlraExecutive Vice President, Business Strategy
Bicky joined DubLi in February 2013 following a 30 year career in the travel and hospitality industry. Bicky's initial responsibility at DubLi was management of the travel portal. In addition he now leads DubLi’s strategic partnerships & business expansion in the developing markets. As an international executive, Bicky has worked in India, Dubai, Singapore and London through his career specializing in managing businesses in Asia Pacific, Middle East & the African Regions.
Bicky is the Founder and Group President of TraVision. Earlier in his career, he spent over four years as Managing Director APAC & ME of a Dax 30 company - TUI Germany’s Global Travel Management Company. From 1985-2002, Bicky held multiple positions within the Emirates Group, starting his career with the airline a few weeks following its launch and later holding several senior management positions in UAE & UK.
A native of India, Bicky received graduated in Business Administration and Management from Delhi University. Bicky is a published Author of the first book on Travel Management in Asia Pacific – At Face Value and is a distinguished speaker at Travel Conferences around the world.
Alex PetrilakExecutive Vice President, Partner Programs
Alex Petrilak is Executive Vice President, Ominto Partner Program. Prior to joining Ominto as a consultant in February 2013, Alex spent 12 years as Managing Director of Marketing Systems Management Inc., a management consulting firm providing C-level leadership and operational advisory services to diverse organizations resulting in $750 million in sales, funding and strategic partnerships. With over 30 years of experience in direct and supervisory selling, his expertise is in high volume B2B and B2C sales in the public, private, government and non-profit sectors. Earlier in his career, he was the Director of Marketing for Price Waterhouse where he was responsible for the design and implementation of the PW Consulting Services program for Fortune 500 and Middle Market companies. He also worked at Merrill Lynch Capital Markets as an analyst, Southmark Financial Corporation as Vice President of Sales and Asset Management, and The Paragon Group as Vice President of Marketing and Commercial Development. Alex attended Georgetown University, Washington, D.C. studying International Economics and graduated from Southern Methodist University in 1972 with a BBA Marketing.
